Levator ani syndrome
A broad, thin muscle originating form the posterior side of the pubis body, spine of the ischium, and pelvic fascia between the pubis and ischium on either side of the pelvis. Both muscles unite and insert at the apex of the coccyx to form the pelvic floor supporting the pelvic viscera and aiding in defecation.
